Hacktoberfest 2022

I did attempt Hacktoberfest back in 2021, but couldn't approach it until late October (I ended up not reaching the goal).

This year I was aware of the event and prepared my schedule: time to participate properly!

I know open source needs hands-on all year round, the issue with being employed is that the focusing effect of a single events help you dig some time for it, and deliver something.

Website recap

When I started up this website using plain HTML with some styled content was the norm, CSS were "new" and not everybody were using them.
We even had people against css!

From there, I moved on various CMS systems, crossing through:

  1. an hand-made bare PHP engine (now lost)
  2. Joomla
  3. something I did based on Yii
  4. Wordpress

At some times I might have tried out dooPHP or similar, but that was very short-lived

Now I'm back at static pages... this time made with a site generator.
I come to realize this place doesn't need al the bells and whistles of a full-fledged dynamic website, I got other places were communication happens.

And now...

My current setup is now using zola from a set of local files in markdown.

I'm still learning how to get the best out of it, and will probably attempt at creating my own template: until then, I'm quite satisfied with the outcome! ⭐⭐⭐
